THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY
Hello! I'm Tom, and I started Story of Us because I couldn't find the perfect wedding gift for two close friends. I didn't want to buy them something that would just end up gathering dust in a drawer. I wanted something meaningful and completely unique to them. So I decided I had to make it.
Armed with a borrowed microphone and a few questions I wrote on the way there, I spent the day working the room and chatting to guests, uncovering weird family anecdotes, embarrassing memories of first dates and drunken misadventures, and the long rambling tales from that one odd uncle.
When I gave them the finished product, their reaction was more than I could have imagined. There were tears, laughter, and endless thanks for capturing so many beautiful things people had said about them.
That's when I realised I'd created something much more than just a recording.
Story of Us manages to preserve the memories that photos can't quite capture. Hearing the voices of the people you love, exactly as they were, on such an important day, is a gift you can't really replicate.
Now I'm lucky enough to spend my weekends capturing other people's stories, weaving together the magic moments of their big day, into something they'll cherish forever.
